Blogger Notes

What’s new This week at GRT!

Well I think summer is here in Spokane. We hit almost 90 degrees today. but there is a nice breeze coming though the back yard. So I am enjoying it. Getting color too!

As I said, it's Friday. The weekend is upon us. So, what am I doing?

Oh so much to do. LOL A good list actually. I have been working on some ideas for the blog, including articles and themes. I am currently working on a stylesheet for this darn thing too. yes, I am putting my Web Design Certificate to good use. Building up my portfolio. Starting with my websites and blog site. gotta start somewhere. I am also working on a friend's site as well that I am going to add to my portfolio. :)

Loni and I have something in common -- we both lost a very dear pet within a week of each other. My Mitzy passed on May 11th -- she was just a year old. And Loni's Peppermint passed on the 16th. Below are pics our fur babies.

My Mitzy Boo.

Loni's Peppermint.

Losing a pet is hard but we are both on our paths to healing :)

other news for GRT? well I am restructing the biz ... hard times, hard times. Need to figure out what to do. The biggest issue is getting profits above expenses. Nose to the grind stone. Time to call in the big guns and see what Goddess, Universe and the old Horned One can do. Hey I will take some fairy dust on my resume as well! hint hint! and some Angel blessings on my applications, too :)

Hope you all have a great weekend. Get outside and enjoy the weather. Summer is here!!!

Bright Blessings

first, I am going to address that I am a horrible blogger :) I really need to post more often. So, I am declaring today that my goal is to post once a week -- I will post once a week, regardless if it is just to say hello :) My ultimate goal is 3 times a week, but with school and family once is at least doable. Okay mark "goal setting" off the todo list.

Happy Memorial day to All! I am sitting here in my backyard enjoying the beautiful sunny day and the nice breeze wondering what it really means to me. Growing up, Memorial day was all about honoring our military heroes. Being a Minnesota native, it also meant opening up the cabin up north for the summer! Beginning of summer! School is almost out, if not already for some. Some of us are getting ready to celebrate Midsummer Night (Summer Solstice) [winter solstice in the southern hemisphere], while others are gearing up for a fun filled summer. For all of us though, it goes by so quickly.

There is a new moon upon us. And I am very excited. Okay we are all dealing with Mercury Retrograde, and being a Virgo I feel like it's a double whammy :), however I am feeling lots of good energies and vibrations coming to all all of us.

With all that yammering on, enjoy your summer! Get off your arse and get outside for a little bit everyday. Unplug from the computer at least 15 minutes a day! Don't eat your lunch at the desk. Go outside and enjoy the sunshine! If it's raining, bring an umbrella! Once a week get the family together and make smores. No firepit, you say?! Use your grill! No grill? Get creative! My honey took apart the broken washer, pulled out the ceramic coated drum that you put the clothes in, and is using that for a "fire pit". Talk about innovative. I love it. I get to burn all the paper products -- yeah, Spokane is still a little behind on the whole Recycle thing (so many dos and don'ts, that I don't see the point. Morons) -- and make smores at the same time. Anyone want a roasted hotdog?? Awesome!

Be Creative! Get off your ARSE!!! Get outside! And do stuff with the kids! There is so much you can do that you dont' need money to do! Living in a material world, it's hard to see that yes you can do things that are free! But believe me, there are plenty of things you can do that don't cost a thing! So get out there and JUST DO IT!!!!

Sunday starts a new week! I have a list of fun stuff to post! as well as working on a unique to me template! Gotta keep up on the design biz, right?? What better place to start than my own stuff. LOL

Happy Memorial day ALL!
Bright Blessings!

OMG so much going on lately.

I am just past midterm 3rd quarter at SCC. I am enrolled in the Software Development program and very excited. I get my 1st certificate end of this quarter. Woot! One step closer to getting my AAS. During spring quarter I start Ruby -- this is the beginning of 3 quarters worth learning this language. Super stoked.

I am very excited about learning Ruby as this is where the bigger money is right now as there is a high demand but not many that are fluent with Ruby as opposed to say PHP or Perl for example. Ruby on Rails is in a budding stage and growing fast.

I am also going to the Ruby on Rails conference May 4th - 7th --- at the Las Vegas Hilton! Woot! Can we say Road trip for the SCC computer club?!?!?! That's right --- 10 people in a 15 peeps van driving from Spokane WA to Las Vegas! OMG Geeks on the road! Too much fun!

This is going to be a great experience and also a potential job seeking opportunity! There is a small group of us that are looking into starting up a group project as well! So keeping fingers crossed. It's time to start putting my smarts to earning money!

something to share with all of you!

From The Secret Daily Teachings - Thank You Thursday

"Today is Thank You Thursday. Today and every Thursday is your day to say and feel "Thank you" in as many ways as you can.

Write a list of all the people and events you want to give thanks for.

Return thanks today to those who have done things for you.

As you walk say "Thank you" in your mind with each step you take.

As you drive, make each time you stop your cue to say "Thank you."

At various times in the day, think and feel "Thank you" inside you seven times in a row.

Look for every opportunity to say "Thank you" to other people, and say it with so much meaning that the person looks right at you.

Thank your way through every Thursday, and make "Thank you" your predominant thought, feeling, and words of the day.

"Thank you" - two words, inconceivable potential power, and all they need is you to put the power into them by expressing them.

Thank you!"

What Kind of Modern Tradition Witch Are You? created with QuizFarm.com

You scored as Hedgewitch A Witch who combines many elements of Traditional Witchcraft and Nature Witchcraft, as well as Shamanism and healing, with a more rural tone to their practise. A hedgewitch studies herbalism, nature, shamanism, healing lore, hearthcraft, nature oriented magick and anything else she may find useful. She will study both magickal and medicinal herbalism. She will have a garden if she can, but prefers to gather plants and magickal materials from the wild. She may know a lot about what grows in the wild, as well as about wildlife and livestock. Her tools will be a mix of different useful items, as well as natural items and shamanic tools. Such as walking sticks and staffs, wands, rattles, a medicine bag, pruning shears, cooking pots, besoms, and the tools of herbalism, such as a mortar and pestual. Her shrine/altar can be placed anywhere in her home, garden or yard, and she may have special places set up in her favorite wild places, or a corner of a farm field. Could this man be more inspiring? Holy Crap, Batman!!!! I haven't watched the Olympics at all -- yes, call me whatever you want. But last night the DBF wanted to watch Michael Phelps win the Gold -- okay he was out before 930pm. LOL Now I usually change the channel but I was so mesmerized by the women runners that I didn't change it.

And boy am I glad I didn't. I watched the womens singles -- we got the silver, then I watched the womens relay! The silver again, but DANG those Aussies can swim. Then all the hubub .. the reason the DBF wanted to watch .. yeah snoring away! HAHA He missed it! I didn't! Thought I was going to wake him up though with all my cheering and whooping! Yes, in my PJS! It was amazing!

Not only did this young man (cutey pa-tutey I might add) beat Spitz' 7 Gold record after 35 or 36 years *yeah holy crap, batman* but he and his teammates kept America's top spot in the 400 meter relay! WOOT! Records broke, 8 Gold medals won ... and he still shows his mom the love! This boy is just so darn sweet! I now understand the hoopla and why my girls are all googly eyed! LOL

Kudos to all the winners! I am inspired and awed at the same time! and I am so glad I did not change the channel!

Just had to share my Olympics moment! -- even if it was in the middle of the night! LOL

I am so excited. I have finally mastered my Lotion Bar recipe! Woot!

What is a Lotion Bar, you ask?

A lotion bar is like chap stick for your skin. ;) Because it is made with beeswax, it stays hard. When you rub it on your skin, the warmth of your body melts the bar -- kind of like a bar of soap. But you don't wash it off!

All the ingredients I use are organic -- which I am very happy about. My bars are not scented with any fragrances, just all natural & organic ingredients.

Sample Size Bars: $3.00 ea or 2 for $5

So Please hop on over to Gypsy Rose Treasures on Aug 4th for your own Lotion Bar!

I am a Wytche..
I see beauty in all life..
I hear the whispers of the trees ~
I feel the gentle breeze kiss my face...
The warmth from the sun fills me with energy and passion~
The soft spring rain washes over me and I am renewed.
The wisdom of those before comes to me in my dreams.
The strength and power of Mother Earth grounds me..
and keeps me balanced.

I am a Wytche..
I have pledged myself in my entirety to Them..
For it is from Them all life comes.. to Them all life returns...
And without Them ~ I cease to be.

I am a Wytche..
The magick stirring within me.. is a gift from Them.
I have come to see myself... as They see me...
I have come to know myself... as They know me ~
Love myself as They love me.
I stand with Them.. in my truth.

I am a Wytche..
My truth.. is not the same as your truth ~
Just as your truth.. is not the same as mine...
I do not question or judge your truth.. for we are equal in Their eyes.
All parts of One.

I am a Wytche...
I follow my path.. my map of life with dignity.. with resolve ~
My map.. is not the same as your map~
Yet perhaps you too are a Wytche..
Our maps are unique unto us... albeit our destination the same.
You may walk beside me ... should you choose ~
Let us learn each from the other as we walk.

I am a Wytche...
Maiden.. Mother.. Crone ~
I shall share my life knowledge freely ... shine my light..
So that those who have lost their way.. may see their map once again.
I do not seek to change you.. but to help you..
find you.

So during the month of May, my DBF and I were put into a predicament that forced us to move. Yes our "landlord" told us he sold the house, and we had until the end of the month to find a new home! What fun!?!?!? In the midst of one chaotic matter was born more chaos. Woot! However, we did manage to find a new home -- much better than where we lived. Albeit a little more rent but the entire house is up to code, doesnt have painted shut windows, wood shingled roof nor does it have asbestos (sp?) siding. Yea!!! It's a nice splitlevel single family house. And the best part is that everyone, including the cats, feel right at home! Like this house was meant for us!

With this move, it has been difficult to build up stock at GRT. However I have finally gotten the Candle Shoppe stocked with 38 different scents for the Travel Tins, Votives and Jelly Jar Candles. Also you can purchase GRT Gift Certificates! These make great gifts for Everyone on your list who loves candles -- especially Soy Candles that are Eco-Friendly and help contribute to "Going Green"!

Right now Gypsy Rose Treasures is having a "We've Moved" Sale until June 30th! You will save 15% off your entire purchase (excluding GCs)! Woot! So come on by and see what yummy scents we have! Our newest scents -- Butterfly Kisses, Faery Garden and Dandelion Pear -- are a wonderful addition to any Summer decor! Purchase any candle of one or more of one of these 3 scents by June 30th, mention Gypsy Magick Blog in the Comments box during the order process, and I will send you a 6pk of matching scented Tealights for FREE!

Also ~ subscribe to the Gypsy Magick Blog (see link to the right --> ) and create an account at GRT and receive a $5 Gift Certificate to use towards your next purchase with us!

I'm so excited! We have all our candles in stock and so far we have 38 different scents available. There are jars, tins, filled votive holders and melties available in THE Shoppe! Plus, as I type this, I am also working on some very nice gift sets, including tealights, votives and melties!

New stock will be added daily to get GRT, as well as new scents.

Also, GRT is one of the sponsors for the online faire "Here Comes the Sun" at www.paganpacks.com on Friday, May 23rd from 11am to 1am EST. We are very excited to be part of the Faire! So please come on by and see what games, prizes and goodies you can win ~ plus a great list of vendors that will be selling at the faire. So come on in and see what all that hullabaloo is all about!
